Elizabeth Llewellyn MBE
As no stranger to blue-sky thinking - and after studying singing at the Royal Northern College of Music - Elizabeth Llewellyn has worked in several industries: in recruitment for the IT/telecoms industry; in the travel industry heading-up a team of researchers for special-interest tours across Europe; then Elizabeth worked for an Italian company in London (who were also ground-handlers for the football team A.C. Milan) organising high-end conferences and incentive programmes.
Already a soprano of standing internationally, during the pandemic of 2020, Elizabeth both recorded her award-winning debut album Heart & Hereafter, and began thinking about new ways of presenting classical vocal music.
Her first idea was of taking Britten's song-cycle Our Hunting Fathers into the great outdoors with a crack-team of 8-10 instrumentalists, a movement director, puppetry, and a very simple set to tell the story of our affected countryside an audience able to get up-close in safety. This idea was taken on by Britten Pears Arts and the renowned Hebrides Ensemble, with its premiere in August 2021.
Elizabeth's passion has always been to "do something new" - both in terms of helping new & current audiences to discover more about classical vocal music in particular and, through making opportunities for herself, create development opportunities for colleagues across the wide spectrum of experience within the opera industry.
Fai Da Te Productions' next project will be commissioning a new song-cycle which reflects the times in which we live... more on that soon!
